2 Lessons

This course provides a comprehensive survey of the Old Testament by tracing God's unfolding plan of redemption from Genesis through Malachi. Students will explore the historical development of Israel, the major covenants, prophetic ministries, wisdom literature, and God's faithfulness throughout every generation. Rather than studying isolated books, students will understand how each book contributes to the grand narrative of Scripture and ultimately points toward Jesus Christ.

Special emphasis is placed on understanding the cultural background, historical setting, theological themes, and chronological flow of Old Testament history. Students will become familiar with the Patriarchs, Exodus, Conquest, Kingdom, Exile, and Restoration while recognizing God's covenant relationship with His people. The course also examines the significance of the Law, Prophets, and Writings within God's redemptive purposes.

Upon completing this course, students will gain a unified understanding of the Old Testament, enabling them to teach, preach, and interpret its message with confidence. The course lays an essential biblical foundation for advanced theological studies and prepares students for deeper exploration of individual Old Testament books.
