The Biblical Foundation of Evangelism and Discipleship
Sharing the Gospel Effectively
Making Disciples Who Make Disciples
The Great Commission is the central mission entrusted by Jesus Christ to every believer and every local church. This course equips students with the biblical knowledge, practical skills, and spiritual confidence needed to faithfully proclaim the Gospel, lead people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and nurture new believers toward spiritual maturity. Students will examine the biblical foundations of evangelism and discipleship by studying the ministry of Jesus, the teachings of the apostles, and the remarkable growth of the early church. Emphasis is placed on understanding that evangelism and discipleship are inseparable aspects of Christian ministry, working together to fulfill Christ's command to "make disciples of all nations."
Throughout this course, learners will explore practical methods for sharing the Gospel with clarity, compassion, and biblical accuracy in a variety of settings. Topics include personal evangelism, relational outreach, lifestyle evangelism, small-group discipleship, follow-up ministry, mentoring new believers, apologetics, and cross-cultural evangelism. Students will learn how to present the message of salvation with confidence, answer common questions about the Christian faith with grace and wisdom, and effectively communicate the hope of the Gospel to people from diverse backgrounds. Practical ministry exercises and real-life evangelistic scenarios will prepare students to engage others with both truth and Christlike love.
Special attention is given to the lifelong process of making disciples rather than merely gaining converts. Students will discover biblical principles for establishing new believers in their faith through Bible study, prayer, worship, fellowship, spiritual disciplines, and active participation in the local church. The course also explores leadership development, mentoring relationships, disciple-making movements, and the biblical principle of spiritual multiplication, where mature believers intentionally invest in others who will, in turn, disciple future generations. Learners will recognize that effective discipleship transforms lives, strengthens churches, and expands God's Kingdom through faithful obedience to Christ.
By the conclusion of this course, students will possess a comprehensive understanding of both evangelism and discipleship as essential ministries of the Church. Whether serving as pastors, missionaries, evangelists, small-group leaders, ministry volunteers, or faithful members of a local congregation, graduates will be equipped to confidently share the Gospel, nurture believers toward spiritual maturity, and develop disciples who faithfully follow Jesus Christ and make disciples of others. Above all, students will be challenged to embrace the Great Commission as a lifelong calling, faithfully participating in God's redemptive mission until every nation, community, and generation has the opportunity to hear and respond to the saving message of the Gospel.
